MCC Verstraete introduces SealPPeel, an alternative to aluminum lidding
MCC Verstraete is expanding its product range. The world’s market leader in off-set printed in mold labels proudly introduces SealPPeel, a polypropylene (PP) die-cut heat-seal lidding solution that was developed to optimize the recyclability of PP packaging.
Increased recyclability
Sustainability has always been a focal point for MCC Verstraete. The company’s key mission is to offer its customers innovative solutions that enable their final packaging to be recyclable, reusable or compostable.
Developed with sustainability in mind, , SealPPeel ensures optimized recyclability. Using SealPPeel in combination with a PP tub, the packaging becomes mono-material, ensuring the complete package is easily sorted and recycled. SealPPeel is a great alternative to aluminum lidding, as consumers no longer need to separate the tub and seal to correctly dispose of the empty package.
Patented silicone sealing technique
SealPPeel die-cut lidding relies on a patented silicone sealing technique that allows for a larger operational window and lower sealing temperatures. This not only reduces the sealing time, but also energy costs.
Next level consumer convenience
Contrary to aluminum lidding, SealPPeel easily peels off without tearing or leaving behind residue. When left on the container after opening, the lidding returns to its original position, offering a sense of hygiene to consumers. Next to its ‘lickability’ (a tasty asset for yogurt containers), it is also suitable for the microwave.
On average, SealPPeel offers a 2 times higher puncture resistance compared to 30μ aluminum seals. This is good news for products that are sold without an extra lid, or for food products sold through ecommerce.

Thanks to the offset printing technique, SealPPeel matches the colors or the PP packaging flawlessly, offering great opportunities for branding and artwork design. It ensures vibrant colors and graphics, along with a range of look and feel options to complete the shelf appeal.
