Two members of the IMDA board of directors have stepped down after years of dedicated service to the association and the industry: Tim Curnutt and Joseph Hirtzer.
Curnutt is president and CEO of Distinctive Plastics, a contract manufacturer specializing in multi-shot molding, in-mold decoration, in-mold assembly, vertical-insert molding and medical device molding. Hirtzer serves as president of Global Packaging International in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
‘Tim and Joe have been incredibly valuable members of the IMDA leadership team since the beginning of the association,’ said Bob Travis, president of the IMDA board. ‘For 20 years, they have added guidance and support as the IMDA has grown into an international leader in the in-mold decorating, labeling, and electronics space.’
Joining the IMDA Board are Scott Tacosik, Keith Farthing, Paul O’Hearn, and Erik Johnson.
Tacosik is director of sales for plastics for Kurz Transfer Products. He has significant experience in graphics and plastics, with 15 years at Kurz and eight years prior to that at Jindal Films. In addition, he is highly involved in the areas of sustainability and recyclability.
Farthing is a sales engineer for Polyfab, an injection molding company specializing in in-mold decorating, since 2016. His previous experience includes two decades at injection molding companies and seven+ years at tooling companies.
O’Hearn is the engineering manager for Profile Plastics. He has 23 years of experience in the injection molding industry with a focus on in-mold decorated processes and has launched dozens of projects into production.
Erik Johnson is the product director for Churchill Container, with 15 years of experience in the injection molded container industry. After starting in design and prepress for Churchill’s dry-offset printed cups, he was heavily involved in the company’s transition to IML decoration.
At its December board meeting, Michael Sansoucy, director of business development and turnkey solutions for Arburg, was appointed vice president for the IMDA board of directors. Keith Farthing accepted the treasurer/secretary position. Bob Travis, InkWorks Printing, continues as president.
