Technical Programming and Panel Discussions on Direct-to-Object Plastics Decorating and In-Mold Processes
Registration is now open for the 2024 Plastic Product Decorating Summit. The conference event returns to the Milwaukee Marriott West in Waukesha, Wisconsin, after a successful inaugural year, and will be held September 18-20. The event is hosted by the In-Mold Decorating Association (IMDA) and Plastics Decorating magazine.
The Plastic Product Decorating Summit brings the plastics industry together to learn, listen and discuss all types of direct-to-object plastic decorating and in-mold decorating (IMD), labeling (IML) and electronics (IME) applications. Technical programming and industry panel discussions will focus on the latest application methods, equipment, best practices and market trends. Conference attendees gather from all the links in the production chain – OEMs, brand owners, molders, decorators, and those providing equipment and consumables – to address product decorating needs in industries as diverse as food packaging, automotive and transportation, cosmetic applications, promotional giveaways, electronics and medical.
The event will be keynoted by North American plastics manufacturing expert Laurie Harbour, Wipfli. Based on her decades of practical experience and manufacturing know-how, Harbour will share market trends and economic factors affecting the plastics industry, as well as the keys to successful operations.
Other session topics will include the recyclability of decorated plastics; direct-to-shape inkjet printing as an alternative to labels; definitions and applications for IME; surface treatment processes; backlighting technology; automation design for IML and IMD; laser marking for labeling and decoration; understanding label and film substrate options; and more. Programming continues with two plant tours at label printer InkWorks Printing and custom injection molder PolyFab LLC (a Daiho Group Company).
In addition to a wide selection of presentations, the Supplier Trade Fair will feature tabletop exhibits from leading suppliers to the industry. Additional information on the Supplier Trade Fair is available for companies interested in exhibiting while spots remain.
